I cannot get my Brother MFC-7220 to work. All steps taken as root. Here are
the steps I have taken: 1) With Print Manager Print System set to CUPS, printer is seen but no driver available. No surprise there. Set to LPR/LPRng Print System printer ADD button is grayed out and the printer is not seen. 2) From http://solutions.brther.com/linux/en_us/index.html got a CUPSWRAPPER rpm for the printer. Running it to install got the following error: 'There is no installable providers of lpr for cupswrapperMFC7220.1.0.1-2.i386 [local packages]' 3) Brother site had lpr rpm for this printer: LPRlpr-1.1.2-4.i386.rpm which installed successfully. 4) Attempts to run cupswrapper again returned to same error. Note: Brother says the wrappers are optimized for 32 bit Linux and I am attempting to setup 64 bit. However I do not think this is the source of the current roadblock. I would appreciate any help in resolving this issue. Regards, D |
