Recently I bought a Lexmark E230 laser printer. I found it impossible to set
it up under SuSE 9.3. There is no printer driver when trying to install the
printer by Yast, and when using a driver which is downloaded from the
Lexmark site, there is no way to print at all. Kjobviewer shows there is a
E230 printer, however it is crossed out and one cannot print to it. The
same from within other applications.
Can samone explain, in details, how to install Lexmark.

In console, type su, (password) yast2& then go

>hardware>printers. You have to select the appropriate PPD file in
/etc/cups/PPD - you can download it.

Unfortunately NO!

There is no Lexmark E230 printer in the Yast PPD.
