Default Canon Printer BJC 4400 and CUPS printing chain uncompatibles ?

Hello,

Using a Canon printer BJC4400, I was happy until I install Linux Suse 9.3 !!!

Before that I was printing and running under LpRng and all was OK ...

Since there is a CUPS complexity between my printing request and my target
printed page or paper, there is always something which goes wrong !!!

- When it's not my Canon which seems to test "I don't know what" and make a
lot of noise turning the mecanisms, and blocking without printing any
paper, (even when I disconnect my printer from the PC !?)
- This is somthingelse ... and me, trying to destroy printer registration
and to install it again, but there is no simple way to do this, and that
finish to fail also !?

I don't know yet, what is wrong, is it this new CUPS too much sophiticated
server, or is it my Canon which always was OK before !?

Thanks for any help,

Marc ...

Please, could you send me an answer directly to m.coly@laposte.net

Hello,

I've got a similar problem after upgrading from version 9 to 10.

The printer only prints a lot of paper with only a few characters on it!?

I found that on the www.cups.org the ESP-Ghostscript-tool is somewhat
buggy with Canon-printers. But I'm not shure if this is a consequence
which involves our printers (I've got a BJC-70 which is the same
printerdriver I think...)

As you didn't get a response the last days and didn't post more
informations about that I'm not shure if you could solve this problem
and specially how?

Thanks for your help,
Manfred
