Default Epson cx6400 on 9.1 prof

Hi,
I have a new printer usb etc. it was all found ok by yast.
ran perfect for about 2 months.
then just failed to print,
so I deleted and re set up the printer again
everyhting worked again
now the same has happened again
cant print tried cups but get an error.
I can see the **** thing on /dev/usb/lp0
and suse reports "everything should work"
No it doesn't.

This is the output from cups:-
A print error occurred. Error message received from system:

cupsdoprint -P 'epson' -J '' -H 'localhost:631' -U 'barry' -o '
multiple-document-handling=separate-documents-uncollated-copies
orientation-requested=3' '/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdeprint/testprint.ps' :
execution failed with message:
client-error-request-value-too-long

Now I started thinking it may be a KDE thing, but tried setting up a
printer manually, but to no avail

any help would be greatly appreciated
