Default Realtek 8139 problems

Hi,
In a "Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A" laptop with a Realtek network adapter, I am
having trouble to make the network connect.
I tried using DHCP or a static address+gateway adrees, both ways is ifup or
with the knetworkmanager.

Opensuse 10.3 recognises the card as RTL 8139/8139/8139+

I found this problem that windows can disable the card:

http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Realtek_8139_Driver_Problem

but enabling "Wake on Lan after shutdown" in XP (it is a double boot) does
not resolve the issue.

I tried the latest Knoppix dvd and the network works just fine using the
8139too module, however, when booting suse immediately afterwards it still
does not work.

Does anybody have a suggestion to try?

Many thanks

Just for the record, a reinstall of 10.3 solved it. I have no idea of what
may have been the problem...

Cheers,
