Default WLAN Linksys WMP54G not working with OpenSuse 10.3

Hello, can someone help me solving a problem with my WLAN card from Linksys?

i have installed openSuse 10.3 (Kernel 2.6.22.9-0.4-default) and like to use a Linksys WMP54G Version 2 PCI WLAN Card.
The SSID is using WEP with no authentication (open).

lspci reports the following:

+-1e.0-[0000:02]--+-01.0 Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller

i extracted the firmware with bcm43xx-fwcutter to /lib/firmware from the latest windows driver for this
card (Driver Date:7/17/2003Version:3.30.15)

i'm using a static ip address, all configured with yast.

starting the network loggs this:

Nov 2 18:56:30 julian ifup: eth1 device: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 03)

iwconfig and iwlist brings up the following:

iwconfig:

iwlist eth1 scan:

nevertheless i can't send traffic to other devices. i just tried to ping the access-point without success.
i'm really sure that the wep-key is correct, because i used copy and past.
if i use the networkmanager instead of traditional mode, everything is working fine. so i think, it could not
be a problem of firmware file or of the hardware.

Does someone have an idea to solve this.

Thanks a lot!
