Default can't connect to internet

i am running suse linux 10.1 kde 3.5 and i have a live lan connection
which works just fine off my second windows system and in yast it is
active i tried turning off fire wall still nothing what am i doing wrong
FIRST TIMER.

Are you sure that your network card was detected successfully? You
should have seen it during the install screens. Go to Yast -> Network
and see if it is in the list.
