Hello,
I have decided to try to upgrade to 10.1 from 10.0. I finally got a card to work on 10.0. Tried an old WG511, linksys....found on some support that the newer WG511t work and it did. I upgrade on the first install, card did not work. Tried a full install and the card did not work. It found the old WG511 but would not configure. Because I am on a laptop, I need the wireless.....I am now re-installing 10.0 back on the machine because I know it works. I really liked some of the new stuff on 10.1 and would like to more that way. Your assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. I am pretty new to Suse and really like it so far. Thanks Brian |

I use an wg511 (without the 'T') and it works well with ndiswrapper. It is recognized without using the windows drivers with ndiswrapper, but I didn't manage to connect to my AP using WEP or WPA. Ndiswrapper works with WPA (which is nice), but (as yet) not with dhcp, only with static IP (which is not so nice). However, there is a new dhcp update available (22.05.06) which might fix this (I hope!): dhcp: Common Files Used by ISC DHCP Software ---------------------------------------------------------------------- File: dhcp-3.0.3-23.1.i586.rpm Patchrpm: dhcp-3.0.3-23.1.i586.patch.rpm Version: 3.0.3-23.1 Size: 407 kB Patchsize: 46 kB Date: Mon 15 May 2006 17:16:9 CEST Source: dhcp-3.0.3-23.1.src.rpm Security: No ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: Support DHCLIENT_HOSTNAME_OPTION, the ability to send the hostname to the DHCP server, in NetworkManager. -cord |

I was tolk to go to www.madwifi.org and get the drivers there. I have been to that site and it seems compatable with both the wg511T and Wg511. I am going to try to load it up again tonight and see how it works. I must say I am not very good at installing software yet. It is much different than my Mac or PC. I will reply back on how it works. Thanks for your reply... infoboy |
