Hello, we are planning on moving to linux and are testing suse as of right
now. We are trying to setup our novell client to connect to our servers, but the problem is that we can't seem to setup the ipx. I read somewhere that we need to configure it in our kernel, but how? We got groupwise working, but no luck with the novell client... can't seem to see any trees.... and also we downloaded ncpfs but haven't came around to it because of not having ipx enabled. Can anyone help us with this problem? |

Can anyone help us with this problem? The Novell Client for Linux is IP only. You don't need IPX. The issue you are having with the novell client not being able to see the trees is because you do not have slp setup on your workstation yet. Go into the system setting on the client and setup slp to point to a DA and SCOPE and you should then be able to use the tree's option. |

Can anyone help us with this problem? What version of NetWare are you trying to connect to? As LinuxJoe said most modern clients including Client for Linux require IP for connectivity. So unless you are running a really ancient version of NetWare eg. v3 you are going to need to configure NetWare to use IP and configure the Service Location Protocol (SLP) correctly. You should read about MARS, the Linux IPX client to NetWare. Go to this
ulr or ask to the web browser like ask.com or Google. http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...al/doc103.html |
