start service network gives:
waiting for mandatory device: eth-id-00:60... interface not found. when i do ifconfig, I see only the loop back. when I start yast to config network card he does all its detecting and stuff, and when I close it, suddenly I do have eth0, but again it fails on boot.. I tried to work with getcfg, but I didn't understand the info, and hwstatus gives me "can't handle subsystem". Thanks |

Delete the interface in YaST... get all the way out... go back into YaST and reconfigure the interface. Just a suggestion to try. > > I tried to work with getcfg, but I didn't understand the info, and > hwstatus gives me "can't handle subsystem". > > Thanks |

It's still didn't work. Am I on the right forum? I've asked such a basic
question: 1. How do I install or remove device by hand? 2. What init script responsible for loading the network? 3. What init scripts yast runs? > zoharl3@yahoo.com wrote: > > start service network gives: > > waiting for mandatory device: > > eth-id-00:60... > > interface not found. > > > > > > when i do ifconfig, I see only the loop back. > > when I start yast to config network card he does all its detecting and > > stuff, and when I close it, suddenly I do have eth0, but again it fails > > on boot.. > > Delete the interface in YaST... get all the way out... go back > into YaST and reconfigure the interface. > > Just a suggestion to try. > > > > > I tried to work with getcfg, but I didn't understand the info, and > > hwstatus gives me "can't handle subsystem". > > > > Thanks |
