Default failed to load network card on startup

start service network gives:
waiting for mandatory device:
eth-id-00:60...
interface not found.

when i do ifconfig, I see only the loop back.
when I start yast to config network card he does all its detecting and
stuff, and when I close it, suddenly I do have eth0, but again it fails
on boot..

I tried to work with getcfg, but I didn't understand the info, and
hwstatus gives me "can't handle subsystem".

Thanks

Delete the interface in YaST... get all the way out... go back
into YaST and reconfigure the interface.

Just a suggestion to try.

It's still didn't work. Am I on the right forum? I've asked such a basic
question:

1. How do I install or remove device by hand?

2. What init script responsible for loading the network?

3. What init scripts yast runs?
