Hello all,
I've just installed SuSE 10 in my Asus L2000 laptop. I used to have SuSE 9, but I installed this one from scratch. I think I have all my network definitions right, but I'm not able to connect to my lan or, by that mean, to the Internet. The machine is wire lan connected and IP address, netmask and gateway are correct, but I can't connect to any other machine. I ran Ethereal and my network card is reaching correctly the router but it can't respond to the it. I've tried to disconnect the firewall without success. Any ideas? Thank you all. Regards, Pedro Maximiano |

Normally if your router does DNS then that IP would be the first in the list of 3, you can also enter external DNS IP`s ( your ISP should provide at least one server usually 2 server addresses ) This is the way I always set my nics up, however your router might not do DNS so it should fall back to the others. All computers in the network are pinging back, but I still can't respond to my gateway (router). Thanks. Regards, Pedro Maximiano |

Or resolve names? Is this a home setup? Maybe MAC authentication is set on the router? Do you use DHCP? IP picked up ok?..... Definetaly sounds DNS related though -- Neil |

I don't think is MAC auth, because I can access Internet from Win and I accessed it from my previous version of SuSE. I use static IP address. I can even access the other Win machines using samba. It's wiered. I'll try to setup my ISP DNS servers. Thanks. Regards, Pedro Maximiano |
