Could someone tell me where I need to go to setup user login from Windows
machines (XP pro and 2000 pro). I have Samba client and server running. From the linux machine I can get into the machines and files that are set to allow this. When I go the other direction (Windows login to linux shares) I get a connect to window with a user name and password. I enter a user name and password that I have setup in the user maint on yast and click on OK. the screen then returns with same screen but the user name is changed to 'server-name\user_name' that I 1st entered. What do I need to do or change to make this work. The network is a simple workgroup LAN and I'm trying to make the linux machine work like a windows machine as to sharing files and using network printers that are attached to the windows machines. Thanks in advance. |

I am not sure if you have done it but you must have created samba acounts
for users. If this is your problem you can create samba users using smbpasswd. <ljungers@sbcglobal.net> escribió en el mensaje news:JntAf.896$W54.378@prv-forum2.provo.novell.com... > Could someone tell me where I need to go to setup user login from Windows > machines (XP pro and 2000 pro).
