What model laptop and also do you know the make/model of modem? Sounds like this is a winmodem and will need special drivers/modules. Have a look on tuxmobil ( http://tuxmobil.org/mylaptops.html ) and see if anyone has posted how to get it working for your specific model. HTH -- Mark Twixt hill and high water N. Thank you very much for your advice.
My modem is a Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem. I downloaded an update from the Motorola website for Suse Linux 9.0 and I installed it on my laptop. Unfortunately my modem is still not responding under linux (maybe because the update was for linux 9.0 and I have 10.0). Is there any other advice for my problem?
