(a linux noob) I am trying to install a Linksys EG1032 Gigabit NIC card on
my system. I have heard that ver3 has had problems installing because it thinks that the chipset is older (i believe now it is using a realtec chipset). Has this been reported and will it be fixed in a new update? The code for the ver3 chipset is on the cd but I don't know what to do with it (nor willing to learn, read rant below) RANT Also, I am not a programmer, just a normal guy. I love the idea behind linux but it feels like everywhere I turn everyone insists that you learn to program. When will linux become mainstream and realize that not everyone is a programmer? I had suse 9.3 since it came out and never once opened the terminal thing. I'm just an average user that believes in choice. /END RANT |

The problem is that I have opensuse 10.0 and it is still using the sk98lin driver and I have no way of managing that change. |

The link I posted shows that this is a fix in Kernel version 2.6.14, but according to distrowatch, I have 2.6.13.... So.... ignore me... no more rants :-p |
