I have a Hp PC..running SUSE 10. When the machine boots or I issue an
ifdown then ifup command the nic in the local netware server goes off
line. it has a static IP. I have captured the packets .. the nic always
goes down when the ICMPV6 packet is issued.

You may want to open a service request with Novell Technical Services
through
http://support.novell.com/eService/
or
http://support.novell.com/phone.html
so the problem can be analysed by an engineer familiar with Netware's
networking stack.
