If it connects internally on this port, and if you are using the correct IP (i.e., the IP of your outside connection), this should work. Uwe,
That doesn't work, I have just the default installation. When I look with netstat I can also see that port 1368 is used. When I close that connection, and open a new connecting port 1406 is used Has it something to do with the java applet? I'll try that with my own machine tomorrow, with the normal VNC. > Has it something to do with the java applet? No idea. BTW, the TightVNC website says just that, forward these two ports. Are you sure this is not a router issue? What are you using? Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |

Uwe,
I have a SpeedTouch 510, I routed TCP port 5900 & TCP 5901 to the inside ip-adres. Or should I route also the UDP port? I assume your outside IP is on the router. Is there a webserver behind the router which is listening on port 80? Can you try and forward 5800 and/or 5801 and then use a VNC client to connect? TCP should be fine, no need to forward UDP, AFAIK. Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |
