Hi, I installed SUSE 10.0 some weeks ago and everything was fine.
After the last YOUpdate there is no longer a network... I use a notebook with WLAN, (WPA and SSID are correct) and the KInternet shows the correct WLAN-SSID and that it is connected with 54 MBit. DNS and default-gateway are correct, the router is running (I am writing this post via the same notebook / WLAN! - but don't ask for the OS) I can't ping the default-gateway... any suggestons? Hi Stephen, What wifi card are you using and how is it configured, are you using ndiswrapper or native modules for the card? Was there a kernel update included in the YOU? If the above are true ( ndiswrapper and kernel upgrade ) then you will need to recompile the ndiswrapper again for the new running kernel after preparing the new kernel source again. Just prepare the kernel source by as root: cd /usr/src/linux make cloneconfig make prepare-all cd ../kernel-modules/ndiswrapper make make install depmod -Ae Then take the wlan down ( I know it is not up but belt and braces approach ) ifdown wlan0 ifup wlan0 That is if your card is wlan0 If the above is not the cause then can you supply some more details like hardware and how it is configured please. Wales, UK > Novell Support Forums SysOp > I have asimiliar problem. I have a Dlin 520G. I am able to get on line with the card, I think in the packaged sus 10.0 native mode. I am able to communicate with WEP with no problem. But whenever I try to connect using wpa I can not conect, and the master access point does not show up at all. I am in quandry on how to enalbe wpa and is it possible to go to the super G mode? Any pointer is appreciated. |

Wales, UK > Novell Support Forums SysOp Hi Mark, Thanx for your help, but it didn't work... I checked everything as you said - but I don't use ndiswrapper. Hardware: Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG / Suse 10.0 / WPA / the card appears as eth1 in ifconfig. Any further ideas? have fun, Stephen |
