SuSe 10.0 Network Problem

In Runlevel 3 Network will funkion. In Runlevel 5 NOT.
What is the difference betwen this Runlevels fon Network ???

3 = multiuser + network
5 = multiuser + network + GUI

Networking ist supposed to be on in runlevel 5, see:
# chkconfig network --list
network 0

ff 1

ff 2

n 3

n 4

ff 5

n 6

ff

What's the error you get?
"yast lan list" should show you the network configuration
"ifconfig" should show you the the active configuration
and "ifup/ifdown eth-X" should start stop a specific NIC.
