Hi,
I have a setup with a server running Samba which I can access from my SUSE 9.2 setup and map various drives, including a private drive for a user. Now with SUSE 9.3 the system lets me map the drives using the username/password set up in smbpasswd but the access permissions for the drive are all set as root:root instead of user:group. I am probably being very simple here, but can someone tell what is different about the client or the default setup in 9.3 which is doing this? TIA Iain |

There are no options listed in this file, either in the original 9.2 setup (which works) or the 9.3 setup (which doesn't). In the new smb.conf file there are the lines: idmap gid = 10000-20000 idmap uid = 10000-20000 They are new to me! Is this my problem? Iain |
