I have been trying to force an old Siemans Nixdorf Scenic Mobile 5 series to
access my network with a rtl8139 ethernet cardbus and SuSE 9.0 and 9.2. 9.2 finds the card and has no problems configuring it but freezes the machine as it tries to access the network. 9.0 has problems, cardctl ident tells me the card is available but when I set it up as eth0 ifconfig can't find it. I have tried a couple of knoppix releases as well, 3.3 has no problems at all and I can access my network and the internet with out any problems. Knoppix 3.9 lets me set the card up but freezes the whole machine as it tries to access any net. I have searched and googled and have found a couple of things that looked as if they might have helped but to no avail. This is driving me to drink, so if anybody can help me my liver would be grateful. Mike |

I had to download a source package and set a special cardbus flag during the compile... -- Mark Robinson Novell Volunteer SysOp One by one the penguins steal my sanity... |
