Hi all,
I am using Suse 9.3 ( german version ) with the latest patches installed. Everythink worked fine all the time. But now I am having the following problen: The RSS reader Akregator - which is part of kmail - does not launch anymore. A message is briefly shown that says that Akregator run outside kmail. I am not sure whether or not this message was issued in the past, too. No warning or any other message is issued which might give me a hint of the reason. Does anybody can give me advice how to fix the problem ? Thanks in advance. Christian |

Wales, UK > Novell Support Forums SysOp > Thanks. Answer: Not consciously. But I periodically run YOU and can say that currently there is no undone update. Meanwhile I discovered that the Akregator is just minimized and running in the task bar. But I do not have the slightest idea why it is not running in the window of kmail as it was the case all the time before. In this and many other cases KDE is annnoying because it lacks of hinting dialogs that tell the user what is happening or failing or what needs to be done. |

I think we might have been at cross purposes there, I have never run Akregator from Kmail ( did you mean Kontact? ), I just use it as a stand alone rss reader so maybe my observations did not help anyway. :-) -- Mark Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK > Novell Support Forums SysOp > Yes you are right. I was writing about "Contact". Sorry. The fact is, that not long ago Akregator was part of contact and I have been accustomed just to this behaviour since the installation of SUSE 9.3. But - as I wrote s- ince I discovered the akregator in the task bar I am fine with it. Thank you Christian |
