For some reason, the desktop trash icon now points to Kaffeine!! I can't enter the trash folder and have not found where to change it back. I would appreciate any help. Dick,
right click, properties, URL tab. It should point to /home/user/.Trash. Just modify the path and save. HTH Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |

Uwe, Thanks for your reply. I can now see how to point at various folders but there is no /home/user/.Trash. There is just my user name (dick) under /home. I have found /home/dick/Desktop/trash.desktop - is this the place where delete puts data? If so I have pointed the trash icon to it and clicking on it does nothing. I am still lost! Any help will be appreciated. Dick,
..Trash is a hidden file. Either just add it or right click in the file selection dialog and show hidden files. Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |

Exploration shows that the trash directory is actually /home/user/.local/share/Trash. (Why is the real trash location concealed? Where is the connection between the trash:/ url and the actual directory established?) Ian -- *********** To reply by e-mail, make w single in address ************** |

You'd have to ask the KDE developers, I guess. Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |

Thanks for all your help. I got fed up with it, and in the end reinstalled SUSE 10.3 again. At least it works now. Yes, I can see my deleted files in that Dir, but when I try to delete a file it just comes back into that dir. Yes, a deleted files is dropped in this dir, but I can not empty that dir, because it keeps on coming back into that dir! Gert |
