I'm running K3b 1.0.4 on KDE 3.5.7.
I'm trying to create audio CD compilations from commercial CDs. This worked beautifully under K3b 0.12.x but I'm stumped with 1.0.x. I create a new audio CD project, and I drag the desired tracks from the original CD to my compilation window. In 0.12.x I would click the Burn tab, set my CD-Text options, then click Burn. I usually uncheck On the Fly to be conservative but it works fine either way. When burning this type of compilation, K3b should extract the audio from the original CD, either during the burn process (on the fly) or making an iamge. In 1.0.3 and 1.0.4, the Burn button is dimmed unless blank media is in the burner. How are you supposed to extract the audio from the original? If you use the Ripping options from the menus, it just wants to create separate files for each track, and if you use wave, the metadata for CD-Text is gone. I've tried this on two machines, one with a single optical drive and another with two. I hit a wall either way. Thanks in advance. |
