9.3

I have a problem with 9.3. Is this a good group to ask? If not where
would it be best for me to go to ask the questions?

noob,

if the problem is KDE related, this would be the right group. OTOH Suse 9.3 is dead, so I'd upgrade anyways. So what's the problem?

Thanks for your response Uwe. The problem is no sound from Kaffeine. When
I didn't get a quick response here I upgraded from 9.1 to 9.2. I had to
make sure users were in the audio group to get Kaffeine sound in 9.2.
That was not sufficient to get Kaffeine sound in 9.3. If you are aware of
specific configuration changes I must make to get sound working in
Kaffeine at 9.3 I'd appreciate the information.

It is only Kaffeine? I mean, no mixer channel muted?

What about upgrading to 10.3?

Thanks again for you response, Uwe. I don't have an answer for your
question about the mixer channel because I haven't booted the 9.3
partition and I'm not likely to any time soon. 9.2 is working great and I
had already invested the effort in configure/make installations of both
xine and MPlayer on 9.2 by the time I saw your first response. 10.3 is
not an option at this time. I only buy distros on the after-market. I
bought a 10.0 DVD very recently and will try that if and when my 9.2
installation no longer meets my needs.

You can download it for free, also you can get a DVD from computer magazines (at least here).
