Default korn, kshowmail...

Hi,
I use kmail but I keep my work emails in the server when I connect to the
server from home. I therefore do not have a way of deleting spam from
within kmail when using the "filter messages" because the red "x" button
makes messages "non-listable" only rather than deleting.

There used to be an excellent KDE application called KShowmail, but this is
not maintained anymore and the latest version available crashes when
closing and does not deal well with some pop3 servers.

I tried Korn, but again, it works fine with some pop3 servers but not with
others.

Does anybody have another suggestion of a similar program (kbiff does not do
what I want either)?

Thanks,

-G-

I too like kshowmail
look here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kshowmail/
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=45724
and note:
kshowmail dependency: libexpat.so.0 ... install package compat_expat1

I have that package installed and Kshwomail runs (although it cannot deal
with all pop3 accounts, not sure why).
When I close Kshowmail it crashes.
This happens in 2 computers I have suse 10.2.
The crash does not let me log out/shutdown. I have to resort to restart the
X server, to log as root and shutdown from there. It is a pain.

Thanks for any further insights.

with mine, the previous ver used to hang kshowmail only - xkill would handle
kshowmail. The current 3.1.1 is better. Never had it hang the whole X.
that could be something else?

Hm... I wonder what could it be.
It is a shame that it is not maintained anymore (Novell: hint", hint!)

Cheers,
