Default Xgl?

I've installed openSuse 10.2. Now I'm trying to get Xgl to work and as
far as I can tell everything works except wobble windows and the funky
water effect. My video card is a nVidia ti 4200 and should be
supported. Any advice?

Matthew,

did you enable these effects? Maybe they are simply not turned on.

Did you try the latest NVidia drivers?

First I tried the ones that you can get for openSuse 10.2 throught the
repository. I then uninstalled those and installed the latest from
nvidia, but before they installed it warned me that my video card wasn't
supported with that driver and suggested the driver I should use. I
downloaded those drivers and installed them and still nothing.

According to my own research the drivers I used are supported by Xgl.

Matthew,

try the latest Compiz from the Quinn repository and use the gset-compiz applet.
