Hi,
If I have the detailed view in konqueror file manager, sort the files by date, modify/save one of these files with a non-KDE program (or use "touch"), and click on "refresh" in konqueror, then the date of the file is updated, but the sort order of the files is NOT updated. A second "refresh" updates the sort order. Hence, one has to "refresh" twice before konqui displays the files in the correct order. This is very annoying. I have reported this to the KDE bug tracking system, but they cannot reproduce the bug on Kubuntu. They said that this might be a SUSE bug and ask me to report it to SUSE (http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=101633). I have got openSUSE 10.0 with KDE 3.5.5 using RPMs from http://software.opensuse.org/downloa...SE_Linux_10.0/ Can you reproduce it on other versions of openSUSE and/or KDE? Thanks, Arne |

The new file showed instantly in Konqueror, no need to click on refresh button. Repeated 2 times and it works every time. The same happened when I removed created files. Test was repeated with Konqueror as a web browser and it worked again, without using refresh. -- Regards, Rajko. http://en.opensuse.org/Portal |

Can you (and maybe some another users) try to replicate what I have described above? 1) konqueror file manager: detailed view, sort the files by date 2) modify and safe one of the shown files (NOT the newest file) with a non-KDE application (or use "touch" at the command line) Q1: Is the date of the file in konqueror updated? [No] 3) Click on the refresh button in konqueror Q2: Is the date of the file in konqueror updated? [Yes] Q3: Is the sort order in konqueror updated? [No] 4) Click again on the refresh button in konqueror Q4: Is the sort order in konqueror updated? [Yes] Thanks, Arne |

It is obviously bug that doesn't affect many situations and it not high priority. The problem is need for a second click. I can understand that they don't want autoupdater to check too many fields, but once you ask for refresh it should go all the way, not only to checka current sort criteria. -- Regards, Rajko. http://en.opensuse.org/Portal |

I have reported it to the openSUSE bugs database: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=236321 Arne |
