Wondering if KDE has an easy "one button" config mode to disable kde down to a bare-minimum environment for older, low RAM machines. Possible future enhancement ? Or perhaps a guideline on how to manually strip back KDE to the bare basics. thanks in advance |

Use smaller window managers; icewm is pretty easy to use, although it's missing a lot of eye candy and 'do it for you' stuff -- but then, that's where all the memory goes . . . :-) Also look into WindowMaker, xfce, fvwm2. -- Kevin Nathan (Arizona, USA) Linux is not a destination, it's a journey -- enjoy the trip!
