I would like to use the kde backup facility (which is based on
rdiff-backup, and presumably, also something like cron) I think, since it looks absolutely *ideal* for my needs. I installed Keep, (version 0.3.0, using kde 3.4.2 level b suse 10.0) from the guru repository ok and Keep appears to run, but I have a lot of trouble putting any trust into it (!) because it seems to be backing up each *hour* rather than each day, as configured. In fact in the Keep gui there does not seem to be a facilty to backup hourly, anyway. Looking at rdiff-backup as a non expert, I see that the interval is not apparently a difficult thing to set. So I am dismayed that Keep is apparently giving such strange behaviour in a basic parameter. Am I doing something incorrectly - is anyone else using Keep and finding it is OK? tia -- ac |

Someone on another list, non suse I think, also said they got the same results. It would be a good project for a student maybe, to sort it? It cannot be too complex....... And the app would find many users, with kde being so widely used. Fingers crossed. -- ac |
