Default SuSE 9.1: No X console after YOU

Hi,

on May 18th I updated my Laptop with YOU (SuSE9.1). After reboot,
there is no X started at init 5 any more.

Installed packages:

laeppi-bl:/var/lib/YaST2/you/installed # ls -l | fgrep "May 18"
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 6368 May 18 10:30 .
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2372 May 18 10:30 cpio-52861
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2676 May 18 10:30 ethereal-52864
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2107 May 18 10:30 libtiff-52852
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2626 May 18 10:29 liby2util-52785
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18064 May 18 10:30 php4-52843
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1885 May 18 10:30 phpMyAdmin-52857
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8863 May 18 10:29 samba-51983
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1767 May 18 10:28 suselinux-adminguide_de-51581
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1569 May 18 10:28 wondershaper-sysconfig.sh-51375

kdm and xdm start up, but there is no X server on vcon 7 as there used
to be, remote VNC is OK and everything just seems fine when I do a
"startx" after login.

Any clues where to look for?

Bernd
