Default How to scan and create PDFs

Hello,

working with a scanner and Xsane is fine if you just want to create jpegs,
tiffs etc.

But is there any way to create a PDF file out of a number of scans? I am
figuring a workflow available just like with Adobe Acrobat. This Tool
allows to scan a multiple-pages- document sheet by sheet and output all to
a single PDF.

Is there any solution available for LINUX?

What is OOo ? Open Office ?
I Know that Open Office can create PDF. But what I want to have is an
application which allows me to scan a page and convert it to PDF in one
step. I am not aware that Open Office officers such a convinient workflow.

On the command line, you need scanimage and tiff2pdf. I found a couple of URLs googling,
like this one:
