I tried to customize kmenu with the editor. I dragged games into
applications, but the first attempt, I accidentally ended up putting it in applications/graphics/games. After I moved it, it stayed there even though I saved it. So I closed and opened the editor, and noticed an empty folder called games, and deleted it. When I moved games where I wanted them again, they all disappeared - except the empty games folder that re-appeared... A couple questions: 1. Can I reset the kmenu back to its original settings? 2. Is there a way to add the games back in without resetting anything (perhaps manually editing some xml file)? Thank you, Brandon Stout http://mscis.org |

It /should/ be there, try launching kappfinder from the commandline, it may not be installed by default, just go to Yast and search for kappfinder and install that should give you a the "Menu Updating tool" menu entry it is the frontend for kappfinder. Not saying that this will work but it scans for any menu entries that are missing and replaces them for you. You could also have a look in the hidden dir /home/barkit/.kde/share/applnk And hand add the entries there or even rename that dir /applnk-bak and logout and back in again to see if KDE rebuilds a default one. I don't have kappfinder, apparently, and when I searched YaST for it, it wasn't there either. This directory: /home/dad/.kde/share/applink Is empty, so I deleted the entire .kde. It reset everything - except the menu. My Gnome menu is OK - I never customized it. Should I blow out my whole profile? Any other ideas? -- Brandon Stout http://mscis.org |

Try a new user and see what happens first. HTH -- Mark Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK Novell Support Forums SysOp |

Would my version of SuSE matter? I'm using 10.0. -- Brandon Stout http://mscis.org |
