Default 800x600 screen on old thinkpad 390 is to small for Samba KControlmodule ??

Hi,

I' trying Suse 10 out on an old Thinkpad 390 laptop with a screen
resolution 800 x 600.

Everything seems working ok.

But if I try to use the Samba KControl module in the
settings://Network/-Konqueror the screens are bigger than 800x600 and I
can't scroll them so I have no access to the bottom buttons.

Is there anything I can do except using an other system with a higher
screen resolution

Thanks for any advise

One way would be to use Yast or sax to add a "Virtual screen size"
larger than your physical screen, say 1280x1024, this will then give
you a screen that is larger than your monitor but you will be able to
access all the screen space by moving the mouse to the screen edge and
it will scroll.

You can then change screen size by using the Ctrl+Alt+(+/-) that is the
"+ or -" keys on the numpad to swap between virtual resolutions.

One point here, check and make sure there is DisplaySize entry with your
monitors physical size, you can enter your actual screen size in the
config in mm`s ( just measure the width and height ) this is just a
belt and braces approach so that if there is anything wrong with the
config then it will not try to use and actual screen resolution above
your monitor capabilities, below is a snip from my xorg.conf to
illustrate how mine looks here on a 20" CRT,

Section "Monitor"
DisplaySize 405 310
HorizSync 28-107
Identifier "Monitor[0]"
ModelName "P1500"
Option "DPMS"
VendorName "CORNERSTONE"
VertRefresh 50-160
UseModes "Modes[0]"
EndSection

Now if I wanted to I could configure virtual resolutions much bigger
than the actual screen size and just scroll the desktop across my
monitor.

Hope that is clear, if not just holler.
