Suse became one of the best desktops out there because of KDE. I've bought
suse 9.3 and 10 to support novell. I never expected novell to fall into Ximians demise. Suse 10 will provably be the last desktop i will buy from novell. Good luck explaining the change to your corporate European customers. |

I haven't decided to give up yet but if Novell doesn't keep supporting kde I'll look elsewhere. I too picked SuSE for the nice KDE support. This might just be another slip up by novell. They seem to know how to capture a market and then just give it away. Tim |

WHere did this "news" come from, Since SuSE has previously come equipped with both desktop options I do not see really what the problem is.. Or where the statement came from. But then again praps I missed something! Regards Craig |

Well i couldn't find anywhere else to let Novell know about their demise.
If you could point me to a feedback form.. thanks ![]() > Snorkelson MacBurp adjusted his/her tinfoil beanie to post: > > > > http://linux.slashdot.org/article.pl...20206&from=rss > > > > This article does not mention the OpenSuSE branch, it talks about NLD > ( which has always been gnome orientated ) and SLES. > > This thread is better in the chat group by the way, these are for tech > help. > > TIA > -- > Mark > Twixt hill and high water > N. If you could point me to a feedback form.. thanks ![]() > Just to put another twist on this, that article has been debunked by the way, it was a rhetorical question that was raised and so there was no factual backing whatsoever to it. I think I caught a later article on /. or elsewhere that stated this with quotes from Novell. So just a storm in a tea cup based on a wrongly worded article, the same thing that was mulled over when Novell bought Suse and said that NLD will use Gnome, everyone thought that they were ditching KDE in all incarnations. Shirley you don`t believe what you read on the net? :-) ( rhetorical Q ) ake care. -- Mark Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK Novell Support Forums SysOp |

Dear Novell managers and economists! (sorry of my bad English)
You make great mistake. It's two enterprise linux distributions: RH and SUSE (include SLES/OES and NDS). Corporate customers who like gnome buy RH, corporations who migrate from MS Windows (Europe) like SuSe (KDE). Suse and Redhat no concurents (different corporation clients). RH positioned as concurrent for UNIX/SUN systems, SLES/SUSE/OES/NDS (include desktop) used for migration from Windows (servers and clients). With this Your new strategy of desktops managers, you lose European market, now you are concurents for RH, not MS. MS Windows forewer stay on European corporate desktops . Don't go american way for corporatedesktops, Europe needs is different. You lose this market. . If nodifference, corporations use RH. You lose money. Remember Novell network systems, history may repeat. |
