Default K3b(mkisofs) file size limit

I still can't for the life of me burn a dvd with a single file larger
than 2GB. The below debug output doesn't indicate it, but I get an
information line that says "Found files bigger than 2 GB. These files
will only be fully accessible if mounted with UDF", right above the line
that tells me it was created successfully.

Using IBM RecordNow on the same writer, same laptop, same type media
will burn just fine.

Am I just SOL with K3B?

Lance

Not sure. Try installing the latest mkisofs and set the "-udf" parameter
manually in K3B. Maybe this helps. Generally the -udf parameter should
make it accept files larger than 2 GB.

Another thing is to use growisofs.

man growisofs

GROWISOFS
Section: Misc. Reference Manual Pages (1m)
NAME
growisofs - combined mkisofs frontend/DVD recording program.
SYNOPSIS
growisofs [-dry-run] [-dvd-compat] [-overburn] [-speed=1] -[Z
M] /dev/dvd <mkisofs-options>
DESCRIPTION
growisofs was originally designed as a frontend to mkisofs to facilitate
appending of data to ISO9660 volumes residing on random-access media
such as DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, plain files, hard disk partitions. In the
course of development general purpose DVD recording support was
implemented, and as of now growisofs supports not only random-access
media, but even mastering of multi-session DVD media such as DVD+R and
DVD-R/-RW. In addition growisofs supports first-/single-session
recording of arbitrary pre-mastered image (formatted as UDF, ISO9660 or
any other file system, if formatted at all) to all supported DVD media
types.
