What mirror is that? I've just updated to KDE 3.4.2 by downloading 49
files
(127 MB in total) from
"ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.3/...".
It
took some time to get it all right so if there is an easier way I'd
love to
know about it!

Have look here Gunnar:

http://www.novell.com/products/linux...t_mirrors.html

The ftp.suse.com is always slow.slow.slow it is the most hit server
going, to find a quicker one is mostly trial and error, what might befast today could be slow tomorrow.

I find that the gwdg one is pretty consistently good, but I do swap as

the feeling takes me

Thanks but I think I misunderstood the original posting. I already use
the
sunet mirror for stuff that is part of the distribution. What got me
excited was "updated KDE by pointing YaST to the relevant mirror". I
was
hoping this meant there is a location that I can add as a "source of
installation" is yast, and that would allow me to update KDE to the
version
available at
"http://www.novell.com/linux/download/linuks/i386/update_for_9_3/index.html",

currently 3.4.2. I've tried adding the ftp location pointed to by this

page, i e
"ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/update_for_9.3/base/.link"

but I get an error message saying that there is no_instsrc_on_media.
I've
also tried without the trailing "/.link" but with the same result.

I wish there were an easier way to update KDE than by downloading all
the
rpm's individually.

Just add this link (or another mirror), as yast source. Remember to do
a
refresh from time to time.
ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distrib....3/yast-source

Then go to Yast,
Install and Remove software,
select filter on Packages,
select 'zzz all'
select a package in the list (doesn't matter which you
select),
rigth click on the mouse,
chose all in this list,
and select update if more recent version.
- Have a cup of coffee
