I invoked YaST2 sw_single and searched for "telnet", "telnetd" and "telnet-server", but in vain. The only thing I found in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/suse/i586/ was telnet-debuginfo-1.1-44.i586.rpm I doubt this is what I need. ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/suse/src/ does not contain telnet-server either, however http://www.novell.com/products/linux...et-server.html claims thet the package "telnet-server" is supposed to exist. I installed it from the DVD, thank you for the hint. I thought the FTP server was always more complete and more up to date than the CD. Christian |

The applications on the ftp site should nearly always mirror the sameversions as well so as not to cause inconstancies. HTH -- Mark Novell Support Forums SysOp Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK. So you are not trying to install it from the 9.3 DVD or CD's but from a ftp source of 9.3. Currently this 9.3 source is not fully available as you have experienced. This has been mentioned several times in this NG. I suggest you borrow the DVD of CD's from a friend or wait for the 9.3 ftp-site to become available. I suppose this will be somewhere in June. -- Freek |
