On my box, it appears that the most recently modified one is:

/etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc

To find the same info on your box, do this in a terminal:

ll `locate kdmrc`

If it's not obvious (e.g., several have the latest date), go into YaST

Control Center -> System -> /etc/sysconfig Editor and change the
DISPLAYMANAGER variable, just make sure it's back to KDM before you
save changes. That will make SuSEconfig run. Then do the above command

again and either one of those files will have today's date/time or you

will have one with a '.SuSEconfig' extension . . .

So am I.

Hi Kevin!

You too, thanks for all your input in this forum.

As for my issue, it is solved. You learn a new thing everyday. I
looked in
anoter kdmrc, wich might be some kind of templete for the system.
However,
there was a line "UseTheme=true/false" that was not in my kdmrc. But
now it
is, and the login screen looks bright and shiny! :-)

And at last as good as gdm......

/Thanks again, Erik
