I don`t know the situation now but I do know that you are in for a jolly time :-) Seriously though it would be best to do a search on google groups about this, I tried to help someone ages ago and in the end it turned out that at the time that make of monitor just would not work. IIRC you have to use the max resolution 1920x1200 (?) @ 60hz Just configure it with sax, but I do not think you can get the 640x480 resolution initially to use sax. The problem is the restricted amount of resolutions that the monitor can actually display. HTH -- Mark Novell Support Forums SysOp Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK. I already searched the groups and have not found a lot of happy
campers with this monitor. Do the other large monitors (such as Samsung 243T & Sony SDM-P234) work better? I would like to run these at their native resolution (1920x1200) and I don't know if this is a problem with the Apple monitor or these types of monitors in general? > joe@callidity.com adjusted his/her tinfoil beanie and donned asbestos > underwear to post: > > > I recently tried to get an Apple 23" HD Cinema monitor (1920x1200) to > > work on my 9.3 system and it would only blink at me. I am not a flat screen person myself ( I just cannot get on with them, They hurt my eyes after a while ) and so can only go on what I have seen and as far as I know your problem might only be down to the Apple monitor`s restriction on the resolutions. Sorry can`t help any better than what you might find elsewhere or maybe someone else here has personal experience and can help? I have a nice 21" Cornerstone p1500 CRT in front of me now which has the luxury of taking 2 inputs so I can run 2 machines on the same monitorat 1600x1200 @ 85Hz and in the shop I have another 21" being fixed for dual dual head :-) just got to get my desk strengthened for both of them. -- Mark Novell Support Forums SysOp Twixt hill and high water N.
