You can do some delays by adding one comma for every half-second delay

you want in the setup string. In your case, I'd probably add about
four
commas at the end of the init string. Do some testing with it and youmay have to add, or remove, commas as necessary -- might even have toput them in a different place.

your solution did not work at all.
i am just getting init error after putting commas.

Ah, my fault! The commas go in the dialing string not the init string.

It's a solution to a different problem -- sorry. I was thinking it
wasn't connecting but after re-reading your msg, it looks more like acommunication problem with the modem. It's been so long since I've had

to troubleshoot a modem problem, I don't know where I'd start. Maybe
install 'minicom' (or 'seyon' if you prefer GUI), a little terminal
emulator that will help you test modem strings and such; that might
give more info on what's actually happening . . .
