No it is not a fresh instal, i have used this account for some time.
I'm using Suse 9.2. And NO (haha) capslock is not on. As a news i loged using a x console, Taped kde and...yes i loged in. I'm really not very advanced of linux. If i close the x console i get again the login screen. |

Has anything changed the UID or GID for that user, have a look in Yast>Security and Users>Edit and Create Users, and make sure you are a member of all the normal groups. If I can find it I will post the the cause so that you can fix it quicker. Try these first: Another quick thought is to make sure there are no stale .DCOPserver lock files in your home dir, you can delete them as they are created automatically, also have a look in /tmp and see if there are any lockfiles for that usr that could be making KDE think that the user is already logged in, these can all be removed from tmp with no harm.
