Is this a fresh install or are you using an old home?

What version of Suse?

Can you login to a console/terminal as that user?

Is the CAPS lock key on?

Bit more info is needed please.

I'm
using Suse 9.2. And NO (haha) capslock is not on. As a news i loged

x console, Taped kde and...yes i loged in. I'm really not very
advanced of
linux. If i close the x console i get again the login screen.

Has anything changed the UID or GID for that user, have a look in
Yast>Security and Users>Edit and Create Users, and make sure you are a

member of all the normal groups.

Just another thought here, IIRC there was a bug or something that
caused
this problem and I cannot find any reference at the moment but try
renaming the .kde dir in your home to .kdebak ( or something like
that ) and then try and login again, this will force KDE to rebuild
the
default settings and create a new .kde if that works then you can copy

back across the files into the new .kde until you find the one that is

causing the problem.

If I can find it I will post the the cause so that you can fix it
quicker.

Try these first:

Another quick thought is to make sure there are no stale .DCOPserver
lock files in your home dir, you can delete them as they are created
automatically, also have a look in /tmp and see if there are any
lockfiles for that usr that could be making KDE think that the user is

already logged in, these can all be removed from tmp with no harm.
