MS have changed the protocols once again, there are a couple of ways
round this, you can get the source for the fixed version of kopete
from
KDE.org and compile yourself worked fine here when I tested it, update

to KDE 3.1.4 where the new kopete is supplied or there was a link
posted here last week that pointed to a ready compiled RPM not sure if

it will run under KDE 3.1.1 though, have a search of the group to seeif you can pick it up, it has dropped of my news so I cannot get to it

at the present time.

Are you familiar enough with that process to provide step by step
instructions for how to do it? This would be the first time I've done

something like this without using the installation discs that were
provided. I'd be interested in downloading the KDE 3.1.4 and building
it
myself, but I'm unsure of the start to finish process of getting that
done.
Will YaST be used in any part of the process or will it all be done
from
the command line? Will I need to be at a command line before KDE is
booted
up? Those type of answers would be helpful. Brent

It's much easier than that (and I'm assuming both Mark and you meant
KDE 3.4.1). I maintain a FAQ for another SUSE group and there is a
section in there that should be just the ticket for you:
