Hi, I had the same problem on a Toshiba M45 S331. The problem did not appear when I booted with ACPI=off or alternatively did not load the ieee1394 (firwire) module. The problem with my Notebook was not SuSE related, but Toshiba provids a not standard conform ACPI/DSDT which confused the kernel... Another possibility is, if you have a good BIOS (and know what you are doing), try to change the IRQ settings...
