Default configure printer, papersize: A4 vs US letter

I forgot to mention, I have yet to install CUPS or SAMBA on this
machine.
("YAST2 -list" shows neither). I'm taking things one step at a time.

Eventually, I will share this printer on my network, probably using
CUPS.

Don't know exactly if I did it right, but I enabled the SAMBA server
and
turned on two of it's services for printing (in the "shares" tab):
"Enabled
print$" and Enabled printers /var/tmp. Windows box in the same
workgroup
sees it..voila, it worked.
