What is so complicated about apt?

1. setup your sources.list file. If you want, I can mail you mine and

you can comment the repos you don't need
2. apt update
3. apt install <stuff>

and, ocasionally,

4. apt upgrade

Alternative:-

3. apt install synaptic

Nice "Pointy Clicky"(tm) front-end for apt.
