They seem unlikely to talk about their IT structure with random
callers. I'd
try to find someone in the business. From a conversation with a
banking IT
friend of mine recently, they apparently prefer RHEL to SuSE.

You're exactly right. Hoever, I gathered from the original post that

he's a customer and wants to use Linux with a brokerage's tools,
rather
than a brokerage looking for Linux-based trading systems.

In that case, I'd look for a brokerage that has the best web-based
tools, since there aren't likely to be many proprietary trading apps like ILX for Linux at this point.
