I have seen some people having problems with that chipset and the BIOS

not making the SATA drives visible to Linux unless you update the
BIOS,
I suppose it all depends on which version BIOS the computer has when
you get it.

Does that mean that I should update my BIOS on the ASUS P5P800.

And them try to install suse9.2

Not having played with one of those boards I am not sure, I did find
some documentation ( last week? ) when trying to help someone that
mentioned the SATA and ICH5 with Suse.. hang on..... clickety
click....

Nope can`t seem to find it now, I think it was on the lines of :

If you enable SATA it would not be recognised but if you enable
SATA/PATA the first disk will be recognised.

Sorry for being so vague, if I find the post or info again I will post

it, got a bit on at the moment so have not got much time.
