Default Running Lotus Notes 8 on opensuse 10.3

Hi *,

as this this is my first posting to this group pls try to be not to harsh
with me... ;-)

Ok, now that's what my prob is about: I recently tried to run Notes 8 on
opensuse 10.3 under KDE. Installation went pretty well, but when i start
Notes 8 (running /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/notes) i get a new window which is
almost empty and then hangs.

When I terminate the window from within KDE I get a bunch of error messages
which mostly seem to be jvm-errors.

So if anyone has ever succeeded in running Notes 8 on opensuse pls give me
an idea of what to do. Using the usual search engines didn't give me a
clue. :-(

If some error output is needed i can provide you with that, but this would
have made this post very long...

Thx
Stefan

Stefan,

I'm a Notes victim myself but I am fortunately not on Notes 8. I recommend you check the IBM Notes forums if nobody can help you here.

Uwe

Hello,

I've been using Notes v8 in a KDE environment with opensuse 10.2.
Installation and configuration were done using Gnome but I had no major
problems using the client with KDE. As with most other Eclipse products
Gnome is a better choice. In fact it is that much better that I have
switched back from KDE to Gnome just because of Notes and other
Eclipse-based products I use daily
