Default VMWare .vmdk file shows as 262TB in Nautilus!

Before wiping my XP laptop and installing opensuse 10.3, I copied the
directory containing a VM to a network drive to restore after the change.
After successfully installing VWWare Workstation 6.0.1, I got an error
about not enough space when trying to copy the directory back. I thought I
had partitioned too conservatively until I noticed that Nautilus was
reporting a file size of 262TB for one of the .vmdk files. Konqueror
reported exactly the same thing. I was accessing the network location with
the opensuse 10.2 novell client on a mapped drive.

First I checked from a Windows machine and confirmed that the file was a
mere 4.5GB. Then I copied all but this file to my suse machine and opened
the VM. I received a message that one of the .vmdk files was missing and
was prompted to browse for it. When I browsed to it, I was given a cryptic
message asking if I had copied or moved the file and told to choose copied
if I didn't know. Once I did this the VM opened and ran normally.

My first instinct was to try a fsck, but the problem file is not on any
linux filesystem. It's on a Netware server.

Any advice on how to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated. I'm
not sure what to do next.

It is a problem with the Novell Client 2.0 and has already been reported as
a bug. If you remove the Novell Client, nautilus should then report it
properly. There is not yet a released fix for the issue.
