Usefull if your have a very large image, and want to reduce it to fit on a web page or such. 2: reduce the file, by augmenting to compression. 2a: Some cameras use a really ****** compression. (my old Canon Ixus II did) Use any soft to Save-as with the usual 85% quality setting. 2b: Reduce the quality setting to get higher compression. Whatever you do, keep a backup of the original. Serg,
let's say you use Gimp and have the picture open. Click: Image Scale Image Now reduce either height or width. Make sure the little chain symbol shows a connection, otherwise you will not resize proportionally. When you save the image, you'll also be given the option to adjust the quality. This will also have an influence on the file size. HTH Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |
